ABOUT NACOGDOCHES PUBLIC LIBRARY:
Nacogdoches Public Library, a department of city of Nacogdoches, is a member of the Houston Area Library System. NPL has received many grants including: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Lifelong Learning & Literacy Grant, DVD Grant, Texas Book Festival Award, AmeriCorp MentorCorp, and Texas Responds Grant and Loan Star, both from Texas State Library & Archives Commission. Nacogdoches Public Library serves over 60,000 people in the Nacogdoches area.

Monday 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Tuesday 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. -3 p.m.


* COLLECTIONS : Adult Fiction and Non-Fiction, Large Print, Children's and Young Adult books, Audio-books on cassette and CD, Videos, DVDs, Magazines & Newspapers, Business, Reference, Local History, Local Authors, and a Spanish-language collection for children and adults.

* HOW TO GET A LIBRARY CARD :
Fill out an application form and present proof of residence. Proof of residence can be an ID that shows your current address or any other item that has been mailed to you. Children under 14 years of age must be able to write their name and have a parent's signature. First card is free; replacement card fee $1.00.

*CIRCULATION POLICY :
Books from the "new book section" - 2 weeks. All other books - 4 weeks. Audio Books on CD or cassette - 4 weeks. Entertainment videos/DVDs - 7 days. Non-Fiction videos - 2 weeks LIMITS : 3 non-fiction books per call number; 8 cassettes, 5 CDs; 3 videos or DVDs per family. No limit on fiction books. FINES : 10 cents a day on books and cassettes, $1.00 a day on videos and DVDs. RENEWALS : Can be done in person or telephone (559-2970). Limit one renewal. An item cannot be renewed if another customer is waiting for that item.

Story by phone. Call (936) 569-2783. Each week a new children's story is featured.


The Library has satellite/video conferencing program capability and a laptop teaching lab. Call the library for scheduling your conference (936) 559-2970.
