| Services | The Nacogdoches Boys Ranch is a residential treatment center that provides a therapeutic treatment program and environment for emotionally disturbed boys. The Ranch provides a supportive environment that is conducive to the academic, physical, social, emotional, interpersonal and spiritual growth of the children in care. The Ranch also provides a number of recreational and social activities, such as, softball, basketball, camping and fishing. The boys reside in a well designed and aesthetically pleasing facility until their treatment is concluded. Family members are encouraged to be active in the treatment. The ultimate goal is for the child to be able to return to his family or community with the necessary skills enabling him to function effectively. |
| Eligibility | Boys who are emotionally disturbed and have difficulty adjusting or functioning within social demands are offered the therapeutic treatment program in a group living approach. The boys reside at the Ranch during the treatment. All boys are under the conservatorship of the referral agency – juvenile court or DHS. It is licensed for 26 boys, ages 7 through 17. The facility does not accept private placement. |

Referrals are accepted from the Department of Protective and Regulatory
Services, County Juvenile Probation Departments, post-adoption programs
and Independent School Districts. The following information is requested: common application, current psychological evaluation, current social/family history, current psychiatric exam (if applicable), current level of care authorization. Emergency cases will be considered but discouraged |
| Cost of Services |
The Boys Ranch is a non-profit organization. The referral agency reimburses the Boys Ranch for the cost of care, on a scale based on severity of the child’s need and problems. |
