Services	The basic goal of the March of Dimes Birth Defects and Prematurity Foundation is the prevention and treatment of birth defects. March of Dimes does this through medical service programs, research grants, educational programs for the general public, and volunteer programs. The March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation is resolved to help every future mother who, for whatever reason, is not receiving the benefits of our health care system. Local chapters are accelerating their efforts to cause prenatal care to be more widely available to all women early in pregnancy, regardless of ability to pay or other social considerations.
Eligibility	The March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation and local chapters sponsor volunteer programs in the areas of public affairs, cooperative advocacy, and community outreach. Any interested person is eligible to join. Families and individuals affected by birth defects or at risk can benefit from programs sponsored by the March of Dimes. Any person wanting more specific information should contact the local chapter for details and eligibility for both programs.
