| Services | The Greater East Texas Community Action Program (GETCAP) is a private, non-profit corporation established to offer a variety of programs and services to assist low and moderate-income people to upgrade themselves. GETCAP uses a multi-purpose delivery system to address the numerous characteristics of poverty. Programs currently offered include the Head Start/Child Development program, Infant Care program, Weatherization, Community Development Block Grant, Transportation, Emergency Shelter Homeless Grant, various short-term food and energy service programs, crisis intervention, and emergency food assistance program. |
| Eligibility | Community Services Administration (CSA) poverty guidelines are used to establish the criteria that will make a family eligible for assistance. These criteria include the income levels relative to the family size and whether the family is a farm or non-farm family, etc. Low-income persons in a 6 county area including Nacogdoches County may self-refer or referrals may come from churches, welfare, outreach workers, etc. |

Call for appointment, complete application, and attend an intake meeting. Information needed: proof of income for all household members (all services require this except transportation), social security numbers for all household members, some form of personal ID, proof of residency. |
