Services The commission’s goal is to rehabilitate handicapped individuals into employment. Some services offered include evaluation, counseling and guidance, interpreter services for the deaf, assistance devices, training, transportation, tools, supplies, placement, and follow up. All services, whether short or long term, are designed with the aim to help the handicapped obtain and maintain competitive employment commensurate with their abilities.
Eligibility To be eligible for services there must exist (1) a documented mental or physical disability (2) the disability must constitute a substantial handicap to the individual’s employment and (3) there is a reasonable expectation that Vocational Rehabilitative Services will benefit the individual in terms of employability. A person may be self-referred or referred through any agency, and may either call or walk-in.

Cost is based on economic need and number of family members.
